This elegant miniature Swedish Cartel wall clock is inspired by the magnificent gilded wall clocks produced in Sweden during the Rococo and Gustavian periods (mid–18th century). These decorative clocks were often handcrafted in Stockholm workshops and became a defining feature of Scandinavian interior design.
The original Swedish cartel clocks were typically hand-carved in wood and finished with water gilding, featuring elaborate rocaille scroll-work, floral motifs, and sculptural ornaments surrounding the dial. Their striking design reflected the influence of French Rococo style while maintaining a distinctive Scandinavian character. This miniature faithfully reproduces those iconic features in 1:12 dollhouse scale, combining historical elegance with a fully functioning modern quartz clock movement.
